Shark Drak Motorcycle Helmet Review
Shell Design & Protection
The Shark Drak helmet has a thermoplastic shell that is designed to absorb impact during a crash, which, if severe enough, could also cause the destruction of the shell. Although, this helmet exceeds many safety standards, please remember that no helmet can give you 100% protection. So, be sure to wear full protective gear while riding your motorcycle and choose a helmet that is the correct size and the chin strap is always fastened as instructed for that particular helmet.
One more thing. Never wear a damaged helmet! Even if it was only dropped on a hard surface because when a helmet absorbs an impact, the damage may not be visible to you.
So, wearing a damaged helmet is not safe for you.
Visor & Face Mask
As we know, the Shark Drak is an open-face motorcycle helmet. It comes with off-road goggles that protect your eyes and these are no ordinary goggles. The Shark Drak helmet has a pair of goggles with optics by Carl Zeiss that can be used as glasses for your eye protection. On top of that, if you’re used to wearing spectacles, then don’t worry because these off-road goggles will not disturb you in any way. In fact, it will keep bugs and dust off your face. These goggles will easily fit over your eyeglasses. The Shark Drak helmet has an anti-fog and anti-scratch visor.
Once you have attached the face mask with the goggles to the helmet, then consider this a permanent attachment. The Shark Drak features a Quick Release Goggle System (QRGS) as well.
Ventilation & Airflow
There are two ways of airflow through the Shark Drak Helmet. One is the Upper Ventilation System, which contains channels to control airflow. The top vents provide proper distribution of airflow inside the helmet. The second is the Face Mask.
The vents of the face mask cannot be closed, even though it will prevent you from stopping the air coming in. Actually, this is an element where this helmet falls short because you can’t control the air intake through the mask. This feature can be beneficial in warm weather, but not in cold.
Overall, this helmet has an excellent ventilation system.
Interior & Comfort Level
The Shark Drak helmet has a natural fiber interior, which is washable. So, you can wash the cheek pads and head section in warm water. Make sure you hand wash them. Its textile is quite delicate and you shouldn’t use any harsh detergent material to wash them.
By now, I am sure you have learned quite a bit about the Shark Drak Helmet. And now, you can easily decide whether to purchase it or not. But I’m sure you will agree that the Shark Drak is a single open-face helmet, which has several features that are better than other open-face helmets available on the market.
Noise Level
Shark Drak is an open-face helmet with eye goggles and a face mask. So, unlike other open-face helmets that tend to be noisy, the Shark Drak is much quieter. But, it’s still not as quiet as full-face helmets.
