The Scorpion EXO-AT950 is an adventure touring motorcycle helmet that can be used as a full-face, modular, and dirt bike motorcycle helmet. Well, yeah! You heard that right! It’s like having four different helmets while paying for one. The Scorpion EXO-AT950 helmet is a multi-purpose, economically priced motorcycle helmet that comes with a flip-front chin bar, dual-visor, aero-tuned ventilation, KwikWick cheek pads, space for communication systems, and much more.
It could really be a blessing for daily commuters who travel to the office into the sun several days a week. With the drop-down sun visor in the Scorpion EXO-AT950, they have added a layer of safety into their daily commute. Many ADV touring helmets don’t allow you to wear goggles with your helmet but the Scorpion EXO-AT950 provides you with a clear, wide field of vision and allows you to wear goggles with the helmet.
Scorpion did a really good job in the design area too. I’m sure you will appreciate the cool graphics of Scorpion EXO-AT950. But, first, let’s talk about the features and functionality of this dual-sport flip-up motorcycle helmet.

Shell Design & Protection Level
The Scorpion EXO-AT950 is a dual-sport flip-up motorcycle helmet that fills the need of a flip-up, dual-sport, and off-road helmet. To ensure that it works in these 3 ways, Scorpion engineered this helmet with a lightweight advanced LG polycarbonate shell, which offers maximum impact displacement in the event that you have an accident on the road or off-road. Inside the shell is a Dual-density EPS liner, which is how this helmet will displace impact energy throughout the helmet and ensure your head doesn’t sustain too much damage.
However, the Scorpion EXO-AT950 ADV helmet is a little on the heavier side and comes in an intermediate oval shape and weighs approximately 3.77 lbs. The helmet meets the DOT safety standards and comes in three different shell sizes with a 5-year warranty.
We can say that the specialty of the Scorpion EXO-AT950 helmet is certainly not its shell design but the way it works with multiple bikes in multiple conditions. However, I would suggest trying to avoid off-road riding with this helmet. Because of the rated level of protection it provides, its standards are not enough to ride in off-road terrains.
The helmet is actually designed for ADV riders. So, if you are an ADV rider that sometimes likes to get your tires dirty, then the Scorpion EXO-AT950 helmet will do just fine.
Face Shield & Visor
If you’re looking for extended visibility, then the Scorpion EXO-AT950 helmet will provide you with outstanding visibility through its 11 cm tall, wide eye-port that extends your peripheral and downward visibility.
So, in terms of visibility, the Scorpion EXO-AT950 helmet won’t let you down. The helmet comes with an EverClear anti-fog face shield that is recognized for its innovative technology and anti-scratch, hardened coating that also protects you from harmful UV rays.
Apart from this, it comes with an additional SpeedView drop-down sun visor, which has an anti-fog coating on both surfaces.
Even with the internal sun visor, you will experience outstanding visibility while riding down the road. Also, the helmet’s face shield succeeds in keeping rainwater out when sealed. However, there were some small beads of water but that was only after riding many kilometers in heavy rain.
For a proper seal, the Scorpion EXO-AT950 helmet has the Ellip-Tec Ratchet System that uses an elliptical motion to ensure a tight seal.
Ventilation System
The Scorpion EXO-AT950 helmet comes with the aero-tuned ventilation system where its top intake vents allow cool air to pass through the EPS of the helmet while the ‘always open’ exhaust vents remove the hot air from the helmet.
In reviewing the helmet, I found that the helmet has two big channels that direct the air to the rider’s head. And if you are looking for steady airflow throughout the helmet, then make sure the liner isn’t blocking the vent holes.
If we talk about the chin vent, then the Scorpion EXO-AT950 has a larger vertical slider that you can use even with gloves on. The slider allows the air inside the helmet through a horizontal slot. The chin vent is a dual-position mouth vent that works in two different positions. In the first position, it works as a defroster for defogging purposes and in the second position, it works as a defroster, as well as allowing ventilation.
Overall, the ventilation of Scorpion EXO-AT950 is good. The Scorpion EXO-AT950 users also have positive feedback on the airflow and the ventilation of this ADV helmet.
Interior & Comfort Level
The Scorpion EXO-AT950 has Scorpion’s KwikWick II anti-microbial liner with the tendency to keep you warm in winter and cool in summer. The liner is removable and washable, so you can remove the liner to clean it anytime you want. But, I would recommend that you hand wash the liner so that it won’t lose any of its properties.
Apart from this, the helmet has Kwikfit cheek pads that allow riders to use different styles of eyeglasses. The cheek pads also add more convenience for wearing goggles while riding off-road.
The Scorpion EXO-AT950 also has communication system speaker pockets that can benefit you in using the Bluetooth motorcycle headset with your helmet to communicate while riding.

The helmet is undoubtedly great. I can think of only a few helmets that can be used in three different ways.
The Scorpion EXO-AT950 provides quite good ventilation compared to other modular motorcycle helmets, but in comparison to full-face helmets, Scorpion EXO-AT950 is a little noisier, which could be a drawback for riders who use it while off-road riding.
