Riding a Motorcycle to Work

Daily commuting to the office is not an easy task in terms of expenses or timing. Many people use trains or personal cars for daily commuting. But, commuting with cars and trains will reduce the money you have saved in a bank account or leave you exhausted after lengthy delays in trains arrivals and services.

So, how can we save time and money on daily commuting?

Well, you know the answer to this question but, so far, have refused to do it. If you don’t know what I am talking about then let me tell you. We are talking about commuting to work on a motorcycle. I am sure it crossed your mind several times but you’ve always considered it a bad idea.

So, today we are here to discuss the pros and cons of riding a motorcycle to work. Plus, we will give you a few tips on how to prepare yourself for daily commuting on a motorcycle.

️Pros: Riding a Motorcycle to Work

In my opinion, riding a motorcycle to work is fantastic. I use a motorcycle for daily commuting, and I can tell you, commuting with a motorcycle has many benefits, such as

  • Providing a fresh start to my day because riding a motorcycle to work saves a lot of time that you can’t save by commuting with trains or cabs.
  • Unlike car drivers, I don’t get stuck in long traffic jams. As a professional motorcyclist, I can weave in and out of traffic and can overtake the traffic hold-up quite easily. This has a positive effect on my office work because I arrive daily at the correct time.
  • Commuting with a motorcycle helps me to save a lot of money, especially when you know how to maximize the fuel economy of your bike.
  • Lastly, it fulfills my passion for riding a motorcycle every day and enjoying nature and the beautiful environment.

Cons: Riding a Motorcycle to Work

Just because I like riding a motorcycle to work, it doesn’t mean everybody does. Even so, there are few things that even I hate when it comes to daily commuting with a motorcycle. The first disadvantage of riding to work on a motorcycle is getting caught in bad weather. Bad weather like rain, cold, and snow are reasons to avoid commuting with a motorcycle. Plus, you won’t have the same luxury that you get in driving a car.

But if you want to, you can minimize the chances of getting caught in bad weather. All you have to do is choose the right gear for cold and hot weather. Make sure, your motorcycle jacket, gloves, and boots have features that provide you with maximum airflow on sunny, hot days and additional paddings or extra layers to protect you from extremely cold weather.

Ride the Right Motorcycle

If you are considering commuting with a motorcycle and are looking for a new bike to ride to the office every day, then you must consider a few things, such as

  • Purchasing a comfortable motorcycle that also has enough room to carry goods and luggage.
  • Since you are going to ride your motorcycle to work every day, make sure your motorcycle also has advanced capabilities like ABS and Traction control.
  • Remember, you got your motorcycle for commuting not competing in a race. So, make sure your bike offers excellent fuel economy even if it has low cc or power.
  • Your motorcycle should be easy to maintain and less expensive if you require service or maintenance.

Wear the Right Gear

As I mentioned earlier, it is important to wear the right riding gear while riding your motorcycle. You must have the best safety helmet, motorcycle gloves, jacket, and boots, which can protect your ankles and legs in a crash.

Nevertheless, if the weather condition is too dangerous to commute, then ditch the bike and take a cab to the office instead.
