Shoei RF-1400 Helmet Review
Whether you are a newbie, or a professional motorcycle rider, with the Shoei RF-1400 helmet you will be able to fully enjoy your ride. The Shoei RF-1400 is one of the pinnacles in the motorcycle helmet Industry. This full-face helmet has reached the next level of technology and performance. Like its predecessors, the Shoei RF-1400 offers comfort and protection in this price range like no other helmet does. It is one of the safest motorcycle helmets, as it meets multiple safety standards. So, let’s take a good look at the attributes of the Shoei RF-1400 motorcycle helmet to find out why it is the best full-face lid on the market.
Shell Design & Protection
The Shoei RF-1400 motorcycle helmet meets both the DOT and SNELL safety standards, which means you can take this helmet on a race track. Compared to the previous model, it has a more aerodynamic shape and an improved ventilation system. The helmet features a compact and lightweight yet extremely strong shell design to protect you from severe head injuries caused from a potential impact during a crash. Basically, the Shoei RF-1400 is aerodynamically stable and its Dual-density EPS liner accommodates in design and fit without compromising ventilation of the helmet. To ensure a custom fit, it comes in four shell sizes and multiple different fitting options.
Face Shield & Visor
To experience excellent vision and ultimate quietness, the Shoei RF-1400 helmet’s advanced shield system has a lot of features to offer.
The newly designed CWR-F2 base plate is now flat, which improves aerodynamic stability and eliminates wind pressure. Not only does it help reduce wind noise coming into the helmet, but it also makes the helmet safer and more practical. The shield is super-easy to remove, so you will be able to change it within a couple of seconds. And, thanks to the innovative 2D outer surface, the visibility is excellent and there is no distortion whatsoever.
Apart from this, the helmet offers a five-stage rotating dial with a newly added “first position” for easy shield adjustments. You will also get a Pinlock system with the lens insert included, and much more. After all, the RF-1400 is manufactured by a company that always focuses on maximum protection and advanced functionality. That’s the reason why Shoei is one of the leading brands in the motorcycle helmet industry.
Ventilation System
As we mentioned earlier, the ventilation system of the Shoei RF-1400 helmet has been completely redesigned and it is now a superior feature that is still unmatched by most other full-face motorcycle helmets. It has four upper intake air vents, two lower chin bar vents, and four upper exhaust vents. The inner EPS liner has tunnels that allow cool air to flow unrestricted through the helmet and ensure proper ventilation to the rider’s head. The system is now more effective compared to the previous model and you can enjoy a much better air flow under all circumstances.
Interior & Comfort
The super-comfortable interior of the Shoei RF-1400 is another great feature this helmet is equipped with. To absorb moisture and sweat, its 3-D Max-Dry System II interior comfort liner is dimensionally shaped according to the rider for a custom fit. The central pads and cheek pads fit accordingly and provide a firm hold during high-speed riding.
The interior liner not only fits perfectly and leaves no hot spots on the riders head, but it is also extremely durable. You can remove it for washing as many times as you want and it will still look like brand new. And the Emergency Quick-Release System function allows a quick removal of the cheek pads in case of an emergency, which increases the safety of the helmet even further!
The Verdict
Overall, I can say that the Shoei RF-1400 is the most comfortable full-face helmet I have ever worn. The helmet fits perfectly, is extremely safe and it also offers very good ventilation. On top of that, it eliminates noise really well and I would consider it one of the quietest helmets on the market. There is only one small downside and it is its longer intermediate oval shape, which makes it unsuitable for round heads. Also, it is not the coolest looking helmet in terms of design. So, if you want your lid to really stand out from others, look elsewhere.
Shoei RF-1400 Helmet
️Pros: Lightweight Design, PINLOCK Anti-fog Lens, Excellent Ventilation System, DOT and SNELL Approved
Cons: Not Suitable for Round Heads
AGV K6 Helmet Review
The second place on our list of the top 10 best full-face motorcycle helmets belongs to the AGV K6 helmet. This is a brand new addition to the highly popular AGV K helmet series and it comes with a lot of improvements and upgrades compared to its predecessors (K1, K3 SV, K5). So, if you are one of those who really care about the latest functions, attributes, and design of a motorcycle helmet before actually making a purchase, then you should take a good look at the newly added features of the AGV K6 full-face helmet. I am sure you will be amazed after seeing all the functions and benefits this full-face helmet offers.
Shell Design & Protection
The outer shell of the AGV K6 full-face helmet is constructed from a material called Carbon-aramid and it is available in four different sizes. It has a structure that is perfectly aerodynamically stable, it is extremely lightweight and it also offers superior fit and great comfort to the rider. The AGV K6 helmet weighs only 2.95 lbs, which is a great achievement of the Italian manufacturer. So, while wearing this helmet, you will surely have the ultimate protection without any additional pressure on your head.
The AGV K6 helmet meets both the DOT and ECE safety standards and it is safe enough for any type of street use or sport-touring. Its internal EPS liner consists of 5 layers of density and it comes in four sizes. The helmet will fit you best if you have a intermediate oval head shape.
Face Shield & Visor
If you are looking for a scratch-resistant face shield that has an anti-fog technology, then this helmet is equipped with one. I would like to inform you that the AGV K6 helmet comes with the latest version of an optically correct Pinlock-ready face shield. The Pinlock system is included with the purchase, which is a big plus.
The shield is 4mm thick, it provides UV protection and features an innovative pivot mechanism that further reduces weight of the helmet. The AGV K6 comes with a center-locking shield mechanism that will give you an extremely tight and secure seal in rainy weather. It will ensure excellent vision during your ride under various circumstances. Unfortunately, there is no drop-down sun visor in this helmet.
Ventilation System
If you like to go on long motorcycle rides and enjoy touring trips, the AGV K6 helmet is supposed to help you to stay cool for an extended period of time. Its ventilation system features three horizontal intake air vents on the top of the helmet and one in the chin bar area. You will also find a couple of passive exhaust vents in the back of the helmet and their function is letting the hot air flow out of the helmet.
The system provides full front-to-back airflow, however it is not as effective as it should be, especially for a touring helmet. The vents are very small and hard to reach while riding with the gloves on. Therefore, I wouldn’t recommend this helmet if you are planning to use it in a very hot weather.
Interior & Comfort
The interior liner of the AGV K6 helmet is super-soft and comfy. It is equipped with a moisture-wicking and antibacterial fabric called Shalimar and it is really nice to the touch. The cheek pads are made from Ritmo and Shalimar material and they are connected to a water-resistant neck roll. The liner, as well as the cheek pads, is fully removable and it can be washed whenever needed. The interior is compatible with all types of eyeglasses and sunglasses.
The helmet comes equipped with a removable breath-guard and it has a pair of built-in speaker pockets that can be used for installation of a Bluetooth headset. Thanks to its tight seal around the neck, the helmet is water-resistant and very quiet.
The Verdict
Without a doubt, the AGV K6 is an outstanding full-face motorcycle helmet that is still relatively affordable. It is super-light and comfortable to wear even on long rides, yet it is safe enough and provides tremendous protection under all circumstances. Its innovative shield technology ensures proper seal against rain and it also helps in reducing the weight of the helmet. Thanks to the lightweight materials used in the shell, the AGV K6 is one of the lightest full-face helmets on the market and its only downside is its ineffective ventilation system.
AGV K6 Helmet
️Pros: Carbon-aramid shell, Extremely lightweight, Innovative shield mechanism, Very Quiet, High level of comfort
Cons: Poor ventilation

It is available is some cool graphic designs such as Boba Fett, but you will have to pay a higher price for them. Basically, the HJC RPHA 11 Pro is totally worth everything you spend on it. For a price of around $400, you will get features of a $700 helmet. Honestly, the HJC RPHA 11 Pro is the best bang for the buck and no other helmet can beat it in terms of value.
HJC RPHA 11 Pro Helmet
️Pros: Speaker Pockets, Excellent Ventilation System (AC-S), Enhanced shield dual lock system, Strong Shell Design (PIM+)
Cons: A little hard to maintain
Bell Qualifier DLX Helmet Review
The Bell Qualifier DLX is another fantastic helmet on our list of the best full-face helmets of 2024. Personally, I like this helmet very much. And the reason for this is its functionality and affordability. This helmet is the latest addition to the Qualifier series of Bell helmets. As a part of a successful brand, the Bell Qualifier series is already popular among the young generation and doesn’t need to be introduced. And now with the latest edition of the DLX MIPS equipped helmet, Bell offers many cool features that are not easy to compete against in this price range. So, without wasting any more time, let’s take a look at the Bell Qualifier DLX helmet.
Shell Design & Protection
We all know that while we are riding a motorcycle, a helmet provides protection to the most important part of our body and it helps to avoid severe brain injury during a crash. The Bell Qualifier DLX MIPS is one of the safest motorcycle helmets on the market and it provides ultimate protection to the rider’s head. It comes with a special EPS liner technology that you won’t find in other helmets.
Thanks to its unique safety feature called Multi-Directional Impact Protection System (MIPS), the helmet offers improved rotational impact energy displacement and it will help in reducing rotational forces that can result from an impact during a crash. The Bell Qualifier DLX helmet comes with an intermediate oval shape and it is available in three different shell sizes. The helmet is DOT and ECE certified for safety and you will get a 5-year warranty with it.
Face Shield & Visor
With the Bell’s Transitions Adaptive NutraFog II Face Shield you will find in the Qualifier DLX helmet, your vision will be clearer and wider than you can imageine. This photochromatic shield will optimize your vision while riding at day, night, dusk, and in the sun. It will automatically adjust the tint of the lens to the darkness of your surroundings. The shield comes with a fog-free technology and it is suitable for multipurpose uses, so it can be used for riding on the road and even on a racetrack.
On top of that, it provides UV protection and it also comes with the ClickRelease technology, which was designed for a faster and easiest changes. It is very rare to see such shield in a helmet from this price category and these shields are available in a few other Bell helmets.
Ventilation System
The Bell Qualifier DLX helmet comes equipped with the Velocity Flow Ventilation System, which is a technology that enables flow adjustment for improved cooling and comfort. So, you can be comfortable for a long period of time in this helmet without having any problems with heat and moisture. Overall, the Bell Qualifier DLX full-face helmet provides excellent airflow that enables you to fully enjoy your ride under any circumstances.
Interior & Comfort
As all other helmets on our list, the Bell Qualifier DLX helmet comes with a fully removable and washable interior that also has moisture-wicking and antibacterial properties. It contains contoured cheek pads that can also be removed for washing. The helmet comes with a breath deflector and chin curtain included in the box.

As you can see, the Bell Qualifier DLX helmet has almost everything, which is very rare and difficult to find in a helmet in this price range. The helmet comes with a phenomenal face shield, it is both DOT and ECE cetified and on top of that, it also offers the MIPS technology. The only feature missing in this helmet is the SNELL rating, therefore, I wouldn’t advice to go racing in this helmet. Also, the helmet can be noisy at higher speeds.
Bell Qualifier DLX Helmet
️Pros: Speaker Facility, Transitions Adaptive Face Shield, Anti-scratch and anti-fog Nutra-Fog II Shield, Aerodynamic stability, Top level Ventilation system
Cons: Noise issues
HJC RPHA 70 ST Helmet Review
There is a reason why HJC helmets appear multiple times on our list of the best full-face motorcycle helmets. Since 1992, HJC has been one of the top-selling helmet brands in the United States. The good thing about this brand is the fact that its helmets are offered in both premium and mid-range price categories. In fact, my very first helmet was made by HJC. The HJC RPHA 70 ST is the latest version of the RPHA 70 helmet series and it comes with many interesting features. As mentioned in its label, the HJC RPHA 70 ST is a sport-touring helmet and it includes features such as an integrated sun shield and emergency shield replacement system. So, let’s take a look at what this HJC helmet has to offer.
Shell Design & Protection
The HJC RPHA 70 ST helmet was designed specifically to bridge the gap between sport riding and touring. It succeeds in providing some great features that weren’t available in its predecessor, the HJC RPHA ST helmet.
It is equipped with HJC’s advanced premium integrated matrix plus (P.I.M +), which is constructed from reinforced materials such as carbon, carbon-glass, and a hybrid fabric that together offer a strong layer of defense in order to provide enhanced impact protection without compromising performance, comfort, and lightweight. Furthermore, the helmet meets the DOT and ECE certification. The HJC RPHA 70 ST helmet weighs around 3.3 lbs, it comes in three different shell sizes and an intermediate oval shape.
Face Shield & Visor
The RPHA 70 ST comes with an integrated smoke-tinted sun shield that has an anti-fog coating. It deploys quickly and easily with an entirely new operating system positioned at the bottom. Apart from that, the helmet has an HJ-26 anti-fog lens-prepared shield that includes a Pinlock insert out of the box. The visor is optically correct and it has a very good eye port opening. This means you will get a wider and taller range of visibility.
If we talk about the face shield removal procedure, then it is also quite convenient, since HJC uses its RapidFire 2 shield replacement system in this helmet, that I have already mentioned earlier. It is a simple and secure ratchet system that provides a quick and tool-less installation and removal of the face shield for efficient operation.
Ventilation System
The ventilation of the HJC RPHA 70 ST motorcycle helmet is also of very high level. The helmet is equipped with a dual-purpose top vent that intakes cool air and passes it through the EPS liner of the helmet and at the same time, it removes the hot air through the exhaust vents in the back of the helmet. I was kind of expecting that HJC could put the AC-S ventilation technology in RPHA 70 ST helmet but still, the ventilation system is quite good and succeeds in offering optimal airflow.
The chin vent has a small single slider to channel the air inside the helmet. The air comes through the front opening and goes into two separate channels that can be controlled with a slider on the inside. The airflow of the RPHA 70 ST helmet is really good. However, the excess air also creates noise that can be controlled by closing all vents and adding the chin curtain. It may not be the quietest helmet, but it is definitely not loud by any means.
Interior & Comfort
The interior liner of the RPHA 70 ST helmet is very comfortable since it is equipped with HJC’s MultiCool interior fabric, which is an advanced anti-bacterial fabric facilitating an enhanced moisture-wicking and quick-dry function. It can dissipate sweat and humidity at a faster rate than any ordinary fabric. The crown and the cheek pads of the helmet are both removable and washable. Overall, the cheek pads are so soft that you won’t feel any friction between your cheeks and the fabric. It is nearly impossible to find such softness in any other helmet within this price range. On top of that, the RPHA 70 ST also comes with a pair of speaker pockets, that are integrated into the helmet.
The Verdict
The HJC RPHA 70 ST it truly a fantastic full-face helmet that will be the perfect companion for you on long days on the bike. If offers advanced protection, excellent airflow and an integrated sun shield. Its interior is super-soft and the fitment is true to size. The only small negative of this helmet is its higher price tag, as it is slightly more expensive compared to some other helmets on this list.
HJC RPHA 70 ST Helmet
️Pros: Equipped with a P.I.M+ shell, Dual-proposed top vent, Integrated Sun shield, Multicool interior
Cons: A little Expensive
Shoei GT-Air 2 Helmet Review
Another Shoei helmet on our list of the top 10 full-face motorcycle helmets is the GT-Air 2. It is an upgraded version of the original GT-Air. It looks very similar to the first version of the helmet, but it is in fact a completely new product. One thing both helmets have in common is their superb build quality and awesome design. The Shoei GT-Air 2 is a street oriented full-face helmet that is great for commuting, but it can also be used for occasional track racing. It features a stylish aerodynamic design and comes in multiple different colors and graphics. The look of the helmet reminds me the Shoei Neotec 2, which is one of the best modular helmets on the market. So, if you are into that kind of design, but don’t need the modularity, then the GT-Air 2 will be a good option for you.
Shell Design & Protection
The Shoei GT-Air 2 can be equipped with an optional Bluetooth communication system from Sena, which you can install into the compartments on the sides. Unfortunately, the helmet doesn’t come with a Bluetooth headset preinstalled and you will have to buy it separately.
The outer shell of the GT-Air 2 helmet is made from a combination of High Performance Fiber and Elastic Organic Fibers, which creates a shell structure that ensures extreme protection while maintaining the lowest weight possible. The inner shell is equipped with a Multi-Piece EPS Liner designed to enhance ventilation and impact absorption. The Shoei GT-Air 2 helmet is DOT approved and it has an intermediate oval shape.
Face Shield & Visor
The Shoei GT-Air 2 helmet is equipped with a Built-In QSV-2 Sun Shield that is there to protect the rider from sun glare. It can be activated by an easy-to-reach slider. The face shield offers up to 99% UV Rays Protection and it comes with a distortion-free technology. It is Pinlock-ready and it has a scratch-resistant coating. On top of that, the visor also meets the ANSI Z80.3-2010 Standard for non-prescription eyeglasses.
Motorcycle helmets equipped with an inner face shield are usually not that safe compared to helmets that don’t have one. This is not a problem with the Shoei GT-Air 2 helmet. It has a specifically designed forehead that is slightly raised from the outer shell, so the internal sun shield doesn’t take any additional space needed for protection and the EPS remains intact.
Ventilation System
One of the biggest improvements that this new version of the Shoei GT-Air helmet offers is its brand new ventilation system. The upper intake vent was completely redesigned to maximize the air volume pushed to the rider’s head. It is very effective and it flows a lot of fresh air into the interior of the helmet. Other than that, the Shoei GT-Air 2 also has an enraged chin vent in the lower area of the helmet, which does a great job reducing fogging issues and improving airflow to the face area.
Apart from the active intake vents, the helmet is also equipped with a couple of exhaust vents in the back of the helmet and the neck area. There is a total of 3 intake vents and 6 exhaust vents, which all work extremely well and they ensure a proper ventilation of the helmet.
Interior & Comfort
As all other Shoei helmets, the GT-Air 2 is a very comfortable helmet to wear. Its eyeglass-compatible interior is fully removable and washable. The cheek pads of the helmet are made from a polyurethane foam, which is a super-soft multi-layered material. The helmet comes with a chin curtain that will not only keep you warm in winter, but it will also reduce wind noise. Thanks to the Emergency Quick-Release System, the GT-Air 2 helmet can be easily removed by a medical personnel in case of an accident.
The chinstrap of the helmet comes with an interlocking mechanism that is made from 100% stainless steel. It is an excellent feature that is extremely safe, yet super-easy to operate even with your gloves on.
The Verdict
Overall, the Shoei GT-Air 2 is an absolutely fantastic full-face helmet that is basically a non-modular Neotec 2. It offers lots of interesting features, premium build quality, ultimate protection and an optional Bluetooth technology. Thanks to the high amount of air vents, the ventilation of the helmet is amazing and it will keep you cool in summer. It can be used for both sport bikes and cruisers. The only downside is that the helmet is a little bit louder than expected, but this can be fixed by covering the chin curtain.
Shoei GT-Air 2 Helmet
️Pros: Multi-Piece EPS Liner, Built-In QSV-2 Sun Shield, Pinlock ready, Emergency Quick-Release System
Cons: A little too noisy
AGV K3 SV Helmet Review
The reason I included this helmet in the list of best full-face motorcycle helmets is because of the positive feedback from the riders. Those who own the AGV K3 SV helmet, and are already using it, are usually very happy with it. Well, they have a reason to be. The helmet continues the legacy of the original K3 helmet manufactured by AGV. It is built on the foundation of AGV’s extensive experience in designing the Pista GP helmets, which are some of the best race-ready full-face helmets out there! And now, with the AGV K3 SV, you will be able to own an affordable full-face helmet that is suitable for sport-touring!
Shell Design & Protection
The AGV K3 SV helmet incorporates an HIR-TH (High Resistance Thermoplastic Resin) shell, which is very strong yet lightweight. This thermoplastic shell provides protection against heavy impacts during a crash. To reduce turbulence while riding at high-speed, the AGV K3 SV helmet has a compact rear spoiler integrated into its shell.
The shape of the helmet is round-oval and its design is aerodynamically optimized for stability. The helmet comes in 2 different shell sizes and 4 EPS sizes that are optimized thanks to the FEM (Finite Elements Analysis) system. Also, the helmet meets the DOT safety standards.
Face Shield & Visor
The helmet is equipped with a GT-2 scratch-resistant, anti-fog polycarbonate face shield that provides 100% UV protection from the harmful sun rays. The shield is optically correct and it has an improved peripheral vision. You will also get a Pinlock insert included with this helmet.
The face shield of the AGV K3 SV helmet features the XQRS (X-tra Quick Release System) visor mechanism for an easy installation and removal. The good thing is, the mechanism is entirely tool-less and the whole process only takes a few seconds!
Since the AGV K3 SV helmet is a sport-touring helmet, it incorporates a drop-down sun visor, making the helmet suitable for touring riders. The visor comes with a scratch-resistant coating and it can also be easily replaced without any special tools.
Ventilation System
Generally speaking, full-face helmets are not that efficient in offering good ventilation, especially if we compare them to dual-sport or modular helmets. At least, this is what I always used to think. However, the AGV K3 SV helmet proved me wrong. When I first saw this helmet, I believed it was not capable of providing good ventilation. But, when I actually put it on my head and went for a ride, I was totally amazed! The airflow is fantastic!
It has four intake vents. There is one large intake vent on the chin guard and three smaller vents on the forehead. Apart from this, it also has two rear exhaust vents that are designed to remove heat from the interior and maintain a proper balance of air movement throughout the helmet.
Interior & Comfort
The AGV K3 SV helmet has a fully removable and washable 3D inner liner. Its cheek pads are sanitized and they are made from the Dry-Comfort fabric. That means the fabric is capable of dissipating sweat faster than ordinary fabrics and it will keep you comfortable and dry at all times. The softness of this fabric is truly amazing. The only issue this helmet has is its fitment, which is way too tight. You may end up having a few hot spots on your head while wearing this helmet.
The Verdict
No matter what anybody says, the AGV K-3 SV is an amazing full-face helmet. The fitment may be not as perfect as the fitment of some Shoei or HJC helmets, but it compensates it in other aspects. The helmet has a super-cool aggressive design and it offers very good protection to the rider’s head. Also, the ventilation system works really well, which makes the AGV K-3 SV an ideal helmet for sport-touring.
AGV K3 SV Helmet
️Pros: HIR-TH (High Resistance Thermoplastic Resin), Meets the DOT safety standards, XQRS visor mechanism
Cons: Fitment is too tight
Why You Should Wear a Full-Face Helmet?
To understand the importance of wearing a full-face helmet, I would like to share two real-life stories that we found after researching deeply and to let you all know the actual importance of wearing a motorcycle helmet, which a lot of riders tend to ignore quite often. I believe you won’t get any better examples than these. This is why I am proudly honored to share the stories here, believing that you will get proper motivation from it.
The first story is about the 1.5 million-mile BMW rider Dave Swisher of Bowling Green, Virginia who suffered a massive crash in West Virginia that could have taken his life or severely injured him for the rest of his life. But, thanks to his intellect and to GOD that he came out of this tragic accident just fine.
You know want to know “How he survived that crash?”
It was because he was wearing a full-face helmet.
In fact, he was wearing full riding gear at the time. That’s why he was able to ride home safely. You can check out the image of his helmet and the image that shows the impact areas on crash-involved motorcycle helmets.
I am sure you noticed that the chin bar area covered 35 percent of the impact, which you certainly will not get in a half-shell helmet or an open-face motorcycle helmet. That means you are minimizing your head protection by 35 percent just because you choose to wear an open-face helmet rather than a full-face motorcycle helmet.
Another story is of Jeff Dean who is the source of this useful information that we collected from his website where he mentioned the story of Dave Swisher and shared his life story too. Jeff Dean is also a full-face helmet user who suffered a major accident south of Tucson while riding his R100RT. But, thanks to his intellect, as well as his wearing of a Bell Star full-face helmet, which saved his life. If he was not wearing one, he could have suffered a life-threatening injury.
You can read the full story at BMWDean to learn more. So, don’t ignore the protection that can save your life and always wear a helmet, not just for your safety but also for the sake of your family. Every year, thousands of people die in road accidents and thousands more are seriously injured. The result, their families have to pick up what is left of their loved ones and bury them or take care of them for the rest of their lives.
This is very sad and shameful! And it can be prevented by simply wearing a helmet.
What We Learned
Full-face helmets are essential for your protection. We have mentioned the importance of helmets in many of our articles. You can choose from this list of top ten full-face helmets of 2024 to utilize the best accessories. Many aspects such as Shell Design, Ventilation System, Comfort, Face Shield, Interior, etc. are considered to provide the readers with a better outlook concerning each helmet.
If you want a high-quality helmet with the most perfect fit and effective airflow system, then count on the Shoei RF-1400.
